This is literally a "good" way to get fans to quickly notice your music
and then get them to become "rabid" fans that will buy
your music and eventually tell others about how good you are :
I recently received the following email from a
pretty bright guy by the name of Mike Filsaime
and I knew that it was the perfect thing to send to
you (of course with my personal "Twist" added to it
to give you the EXTRA benefit...)
Not only will this article help you to quickly grow your
fanbase, but it will also provide you with a valuable
platform to communicate with others in the music industry.

Quote From Ty Cohen -
"Follow Me on Twitter and I Will Follow You!"
If you are like many. You are wondering
what the heck is TWITTER.
If you are like SOME, you have already
realized that Twitter has become one of
the most revolutionary communication tools
on the planet.
Heck, even the new President of the USA,
Barack Obama, uses Twitter. In fact, he
has more followers that ANYONE in the world.
Why is Twitter one of the most revolutionary
communications tools?
Well, imagine if you combined the following:
- Myspace
- Blogging (Twitter is actually Micro Blogging)
- SMS text messaging
- Reverb Nation
- Instant Messaging
- Chat Rooms
- Communities Forums and Social Networks
- Personal Email
- Email Broadcasting
- Search
- Viral Marketing
What would you have?
You would have the most addicting, most
powerful, and most incredible communication
tool ever made.
TWITTER can be used as a music marketing tool,
but beware. It is a relationship building and networking
tool and the marketing is a NATURAL byproduct
of the relationship you make with people
as you build self and brand awareness for your music,
your music career and/or music related company.
It works with your Laptop or PC or MAC. It
works on your iPhone or cell phone.
There are dozens of "Apps" and websites
popping up that support it for sending
not just quick updates, and links to your music,
audios and videos, but pictures
and even maps of where you are right now.
I would LOVE to tell you all the cool
"Apps" there is for Twitter, but for now
I just want to talk to you about twitter
and maybe a few "APPS" you should use.
First off let me get this point out.
YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND
what the heck TWITTER is until you
1 - Join
2 - Follow 10 people you like (you can search for people)
and start by following me at
http://www.Twitter.com/MusicBizCenter
3- Make your first "Tweet"
I also HIGHLY recommend you install "Twhirl" (Google it)
Twhirl allows you to use Twitter more effectively,
sort of like a an Instant Messenger Client like
Yahoo Instant Messenger or AIM etc...
So what Tweets are good?
Anything really.
- What are you working on for your next album
- What is your favorite song of yours
- What you are reading now.
- Ask a question
- Take a poll
- What you thought of a TV show you just watched
- When your new website is going to launch
- Ask what is a good name for your new book
- A picture of your cat
- Ask what are the top 10 MUST HAVE Twitter Apps.
- Reply to someone else's tweet publicly or private to them.
- Retweet someone else's tweet that you like.
-What are you looking for in the perfect band mate
YOU NAME IT...
It is my predication, as well as MANY, that Twitter
will become a MUST have tool for your business and life.
Start using it and start "tweeting" and watch how
people start to follow you.
Hint: reply to other peoples Tweets with interesting
stuff, and people will find you. Why, that person
will reply with YOUR name and many will see you.
Example if You reply to me. I may reply to you like
@johndoe, You really did not like that movie. I did.
But I will make sure to watch the Brad Pitt one as you
suggested.
--
Now 500 of my followers will see his name and can
follow him with 1 click! Now John Doe can communicate
with his followers.
When I first started using Twitter, my followers
we slow. It took me MONTHS to get to 1000 people
following me.
I went from 100 to 200 in 4 weeks.
I went for 300 to 500 in 14 days!
I am now getting about 25 new followers per day.
I even add a note in my SIG file when I email
people to follow me on Twitter and put post
to do the same on my blog.
*** So I will make a deal with you ***
Follow me and...
...I WILL FOLLOW YOU. FOR EVER
(As long as you do not spam or just
trash talk etc.. - Oh, and please
upload a photo or avatar and fill
out your profile. Trust me it helps.)
So if you want me to follow YOU as well,
just get started and follow me.
You can go to
http://www.Twitter.com/MusicBizCenter
to follow me (and I'll follow you back!)
** If you do NOT have an account **
Just click the BIG GREEN "Join Today"
button and you will follow me and
I will in return follow you!
** If you ALREADY have a Twitter Account **
Just click the gray "Follow" button under
my picture and you are all set and I will
in return follow you.

This article is part 1 of 2, the second half will be posted
tomorrow night, so keep an eye out for it, I have received much
praise for both, so I am sure you will find them both very
educational and extremely helpful with getting funding for
your music career.
So here we go....
Working in the music biz can mean an almost constant struggle to
find the money to keep things going. Whether you're an artist or
band in need of money to tour or a label in need of cash to press
some CDs, it seems like it is ALWAYS something. Music business
funding is never easy, but you DO have options. In this article
I'll show you how to find out how to uncover the cash you need to
make your music career dreams take off.
You know that you need money to get your musical endeavor off the
ground, but one of the most important steps in getting the money
you need is figuring out just how much of it is going to be
required. Hint: the answer is not "as much as possible." Figuring
out a realistic budget for your project will help you keep
everything running smoothly and will help your case when it's time
to start applying for loans/grants. For instance, you don't need
$100,000 to do an indie release - ending up with more money than
you need leads to bad spending. Start your project off right with
understanding your costs.
If you're going to apply for a small business loan or for a grant
from an arts council or other funding body, you're going to need a
business plan. Even if you're planning on financing your music
project with your own credit cards, writing a business plan forces
you to think about the potential of your project and how you can
make it happen.
o An overview of the project
o Details about the market/consumers/similar businesses
o Costs
o Projected returns (including how long it will take to see returns)
o Marketing plans
o Your qualifications (info about career, education, etc)
The available sources for music business funding vary from location
to location to location. For instance, people in the UK are lucky
enough to have a network of arts councils who are a first stop for
grants to get musical projects under way. In the US, there are few
grants in place and most people have to try for traditional small
business loans. The best way to learn about what is available to
you where you live is to ask around among your fellow musicians and
check out your local government website for more information.
After you've identified the people most likely to come through with
funding for you, it's time to start making your pitch. One thing
you should keep in mind here is that yes, you're trying to work in
the music business, which can be a bit more laid back and casual
than a traditional industry - but the people whose money you want
will almost always be more "business-y" types. Showing up late to a
meeting wearing last night's clothes and smelling like you bathed
in lager? Not so good. Be professional and give the impression that
you are capable of pulling off your proposed venture. There are
many different potential funding sources, and I reveal dozens of
them in my new, 200 page book on how to get funding for your
music industry ventures, over at http://www.lulu.com/content/228295
5. Get Ready for the Long Haul
Getting funding for any business can be tough, but the creative
industries are a special case (largely because the people who
control the purse strings are secretly convinced we can't be
trusted to manage the money). Finding money can take a long time,
and you may have to apply for money from several sources to fund
one music project. When you're planning your project, make sure to
build in plenty of time to tap into the right funding sources.
Sure, when you want to get your project off the ground, it can be
tempting to take an "I'll worry about that later" attitude towards
loans and debts you are racking up. In the long term, if you spend
unwisely at the beginning, you won't have anything left to make
sure your project gets the push it needs. High interest loans and
credit cards might seem like a fast and easy way to get things
rolling, but they should be your last resort. If you have to take
on some debt, take the time to make sure it will be manageable
enough to let you pay it off and keep your project going.
Even where there are no nice arts councils or arts grant sources,
there usually are groups to help small businesses get their stuff
together. If you need help writing a business plan or coming up
with a budget, do a quick internet search for small business
assistance groups in your area. You may be able to get free (or
very cheap) assistance in putting together a professional proposal
that will help you get the cash you need.
This is especially important if you are looking for funding to
start a business like a record label - make sure you REALLY
understand your market and what you are getting into. Just because
you're a music fan and read a lot of music magazines doesn't mean
you really know how the business side of music works. If you don't
have any specific experience in the part of the music industry you
want to get into, investigate before you take the plunge. Seek out
other people who are doing what you want to do and get their input
so you have a clearer picture what's required and who your
customers will be.
Lastly I want to leave you with an old Jewish proverb that says
" With money in your pocket, you are wise and you are handsome and...
you sing well, too!"
Your Music Biz Coach!
Oh one last hing, I almost forgot to mention...
For dozens of ways to get money to launch your music career, I want
you to take a look at my newest book; "Multiple Ways to Get Others
to Give You Money to Start or Fund You're Record Label or any Other
Business, Guaranteed!" It is packed with nearly 200 pages of way to
get money for your music career! You'll find it over at
http://MusicBooksByTy.com (it's the one with the Green cover)
I'm sure you have probably never heard of this book, unless you are
an owner of My Ultimate Record Label course, which is available
over at http://www.musiccontracts101.com/docs/products/012/
So either you can buy it separately at http://MusicBooksByTy.com or
along with the complete "How to Start a Record Label" course over at
http://www.musiccontracts101.com/docs/products/012/
P.S. Now of course, you'll notice that in the title it says "Give You
Money to Start Your Record Label", although this is true, you can
use this book to get funding for much more then starting a record
label, for instance you can get money to start a recording studio,
purchase recording studio time and CDs, marketing material and much
more, so take a look at this book and some of the other fabulous
titles that I have over at http://MusicBooksByTy.com
P.P.S. Be on the look out for tomorrow's article where I will go
deeper into this topic and also talk about some of the things that
you should be aware of when looking for funding. It's an article
that you do not want to miss.

Make Ring Tones, Using YOUR MUSIC?
If the answer is YOU, read this entire email, as I explain
step-by-step how to do just that...
***********************************************
This article is brought to you by

***********************************************
Your cell phone's ringtone is as unique as your signature. It
expresses your personality and your musical taste. If you really
want to be creative, software is available that allows you to make
ringtones from your own songs. Follow these guidelines
to make your own ringtones for your cell phone.
Before we staret, lets go over a brief list of the things
that you’ll need to make the hottest collection of ring tones on your
block!
You'll Need;
* A Computer
* Internet access
* The name of your Cell phone carrier
* Your Cell phone number
* Ringtone software (I'll show you where to get this for Free)
* Music or prerecorded sounds (Hopefully some of your own!)
* Cell phone email address (you should know this)
Step - 1
Search the Internet for software that allows you to make ringtones
for your cell phone, I personally prefer to use the one found over at
http://www.MakeOwnRingTone.com their system is supper easy and after
visiting their site you'll see what I mean, plus it's free.
Step - 2
In case you would like to know, there are also other programs out
there that also let you make your own ring tones, some of them include;
Xingtone Ringtone Maker and Audacity.
All of these programs will let you make ringtones from your personal
music collection. You select the tunes to edit, pick the slice of
the song you want (stay within 20 seconds) for your ringtone and then
download it.
Step - 3
Make sure the software program you are using is compatible with
your computer's operating system. (You more then likely have a PC,
which all of the programs that I mentioned here are compatible with :)
Step - 4
Use songs directly off a CD or sounds you have recorded to make
ringtones. You'll get a better sound than if you make them from an
MP3 or WMA (Windows Media Player) audio file formats.
Step - 5
Limit your ringtone clip to 20 seconds. (I know I said this already,
but I just want to make sure that you follow my instructions)
Step - 6
Verify your cell phone's compatibility with the free ringtones
before adding them to your phone.
Step - 7
Email your new ringtone to your phone after verifying your phone's
email address with your service provider. You can also download
directly to your phone or download it to your computer first and
then upload it to your phone. (This is a lot easier then it may sound)
Step - 8
Check your ringtone on your cell phone, save it and then designate
it as your ringer.
Step - 9
Share it with your family, friends and fans.. (Heck I would
even sell it, remember, its all about having multiple streams of income
right???)
Step - 10
If you like the content found in this article, then it's time
that you step it up a notch and really start to use the Internet to
Market, Promote & Sell Your Music World-Wide and I have something that
will show you, step-by-step just how easy it is to do, take a look at
it here => http://www.SellMusicOnlineLikeCrazy.com/main

Today what I've decided to do is list the top 20 music industry forums that I've visited within the last week.
Some of these forums I am totally new to and others I visit on an almost regular basis (or at least when I have the time to :)
Music forums can be a gift and a curse, they can come in very helpful if you make the most out of them by;
#1- Always making sure to take the 3-5 minutes that if takes to create your "Signature" and then using that signature space to promote your music. Be sure to ALWAYS include a link back to your webpage, blog, myspace page AND www.MusicBizCenter.com page.. Doing this will help to better brand you as an artist and/or company, which is what you want. Remember the ABM rule, as in Always Be Marketing yourself.
(By the way, in case you are unfamiliar with it, the Signature area is the tag that appears below every single post that you make and you do not want to leave that area blank (in fact if you are a member of a forum where you have over 500 post and would like to "rent" a line or two of your signature space out to me, contact me... Give my office a call at 1-866-752-9968 and let the operator know that you are looking to rent your signature space and make sure that you tell her/him that the message should get to me.
#2- Make sure that you DO NOT spend to much time music fourms. Trust me, they can get pretty addictive, but if you are spending more then an hour a day in them, you are wasting your time. Time is valuable and you cannot get it back, make sure that the time you spend in forums is used wisely.
Ok, now we get to the list... Here is a list of music forums that you can start with. I make it a habit to spend time in music forums of all genres and again, so should you, you never know what you can learn from musicians and artist of other genres and learning is what it is all about.
